As I was working on creating the “Daily Doodle Calendar,” I was trying to imagine different ways to bind it and keep it together.
There was the obvious option of putting it in a 3-Ring Binder, or adding it to a discbound journal. You might even paste it into one of your bullet journal spreads.
But I wanted to figure out a quick, simple, way to have it be a stand-alone book/packet.
While I admire the many book binding techniques that are out there, a lot of them just take too much time. If you have the time or desire to stitch these calendar pages together, more power to you!
But if you are anything like me, you are a fan of the more “quick and easy” options. This method I decided on is certainly nothing new or inventive by any means, but it serves the purpose of attaching the pages together!
What You’ll Need:
- Printed Daily Doodle Calendar
- Washi Tape
That’s it! No fancy tools needed, no special skills required!
Staple all of your pages together along the top edge of the paper. I found that 3 staples works just fine, and don’t worry about them being perfectly straight!
Line up a strip of Washi Tape along the top edge of the paper, covering the staples. If you make the strip of tape slightly longer than the page, you can wrap the excess tape around to the back of the pages. This will giver you cleaner looking edges.
Since Washi Tape isn’t exactly sturdy, you don’t want to rely on that being what holds your pages together. It’s there simply for decoration purposes only.
And that’s it! You now have a stand-alone doodle calendar!
This calendar is a great creative challenge for all ages, and would be perfect to do as a family!
At the end of the year, you can look back and see just how much your doodle skills have progressed.
If you don’t have your copy yet, go grab one! This calendar is not year specific, so you can start at anytime and still get a full year’s worth of doodles out of it!
Don’t forget to share your calendar doodles by using #OCBdailydoodles , I love to see everyone’s creativity in practice!
